Leaving Home

Leaving Home

The sea rocked us back and forth.

But, of course, this isn't what we're worth.

Black clouds cover the grey sky.

And all my parents did to me was lie.

They said there was a great land

So I was stupid and took their hand.

My family has been left

And all I've dont since we left is wept.

Tears roll down my face

Ruining my pretty lace.

My mother glares at me

Saying, "You'll love it. You'll see."

My papa hugs me tight

So that I won't start to fight.

In the distance I see birds fly

And I think maybe it's not all a lie.
